A Catch-Up Post!

Wow it has been a long time since I've written a blog post! Where do I start?

I'm sure everyone has heard by now that Mat and I are expecting baby number 2 in March next year. It has been a rocky pregnancy so far, filled with incessant nausea, stomach bugs, annoying colds and exhaustion. I'm 15 weeks now so hoping the second trimester is kinder than the first. For people who like to see ultrasounds, here's our little pea pod at 12 weeks:

Poppy is almost 20 months old now (whattttt?!) and full of beans. She is so funny. Most notably, she's started calling Mat and I by our first names when she wants something or if we aren't paying attention to her. It is so funny I don't even correct her ☺️ She loves Peppa Pig and reading books (I swear I've read Rumble in the Jungle 272927272 times in the last month!). She can make a million animals noises and knows most of her colours. When she counts everything is "two" and she is obsessed with her nursery teacher Fahima (aka Mema).

We had a run in with a dog (not on a leash😡) in the park a few days ago. He ran up to Poppy barking and tried to take the apple she was eating. She was so scared and now is absolutely petrified of dogs! She wakes up crying and saying "no dogs, no dogs!" at night.. It's really sad. Hopefully she gets over that soon.

Auntie Tooks visited us at the beginning of the month- the weekend was plagued by a horrible stomach bug for me and Poppy but it's always nice to see Tooks (sorry for all the vomiting!). Poppy spent most of the weekend chastising her for being there .. "No no Tooks" seemed to be all she said all weekend! She was just playing hard to get, she secretly loves her Auntie Tooks!

Mat has been working really hard (no surprise there!) and we treasure our 1 days a week of together.

We have a lot to look forward to in the next few months. We have our 20 week scan (where we most likely will NOT be finding out the gender of the baby - we like surprises!), Grandma Caryl is coming to visit at the end of October (whoop whoop!). Then Kelly Kiley comes in November!

Here's Poppy splashing in the rain today (those shark boots help her run super fast).

We had to get on the bus to avoid the rain- she was not thrilled.

I'm off to bed because it's 8 o'clock and I'm exhausted
