Long weekend

I took my last day of holiday from work yesterday (Monday) which meant I got a 4 day weekend (I don't work on Fridays). It was amazing!

Poppy and I went to the park with my friend Kristin and her son Benjamin. After about an hour, I had to drag Poppy out of the swing (she would live in the swing if we let her!). We had a little picnic and saw the ducks.  It was a lovely Friday afternoon!

Saturday we went to visit Mat at work. Poppy loves eating at Bread Street and loves seeing her dad! After we left I had an aggressive craving for sushi so Mat had to bring me home some Snow Crab California Rolls - yum! They were glorious.

Mat was off on Sunday and Monday, so we actually had two days off in a row together. On Sunday we went out for a disappointing brunch in Canary Wharf - when your husband works for Gordon Ramsay it's hard to be impressed by other restaurants 😁 They did have a really nice play room for children though..

After brunch we went shopping and got Poppy her new favourite toy - a scooter! She is obsessed. It took a while to convince her that she had to wear the helmet in order to ride the scooter but now she loves the helmet as well! It has a seat since she's a bit too young to actually use a scooter.

On Monday we took Poppy swimming in the morning - she's starting to kick in the water and move her arms. And she absolutely loves the water! She doesn't even mind going under water.

In the afternoon we thought we'd take Poppy bowling since she's never been. Absolute disaster! She liked choosing the ball, and pushing it down the ramp but that was where the fun ended. As soon as the ball got halfway down the lane she cried - I think she thought the ball was gone forever! So she'd cry for the ball and we'd show her that it was coming back out and she'd go "oh hi ball!".. it was a roller coaster of emotions. And she didn't understand that the pins were supposed to fall down. Needless to say we won't be going bowling again any time soon!
Poppy crying about the ball going away.

That's it for the weekend! It was so nice for Mat and I to have two days off together - it's a rare occurrence and we loved the family time! Now to make it through a few more weeks of work and then Momma Keys will be here! Eeeep!
