Update

Here's an update on my life for anyone who still reads this :)

1. I got a full-time job - teaching a toddler class at Bright Horizons.  It's fun and frustrating and exhausting and rewarding.  Not something I would want to do for the rest of my life, but it's fun for now!  And it's a paycheck :)

2. I've officially accepted my offer to study at King's College London starting in September!  Very excited!  I just need to get a visa and hope the VA will pay for it.. if not, I need to find $17000 laying around.

3. I got my Minnesota teaching license.  So, if I need to, I could always get a teaching job in Minnesota!  The process to get a Wisconsin one is a little more complicated, so I haven't done it yet.. but I will.

4. Mat will be here in 10 days! Eeeeeeek! Can't wait!

That about sums it up!

Quote for the day:

"Happiness is a mood and it’s a condition, not a destination. It’s like being tired or hungry - it's not permanent. It comes and goes and that’s okay. I feel like if people thought of it that way they’d find happiness a lot more often."

..

Today is January 7th.  That means in exactly one month Mat will be gracing America with his presence.. CAN'T WAIT!  We just bought tickets to see the Bulls in Chicago at the end of May.. very exciting!  Obviously not courtside seats or anything, but good enough.  It'll be my first NBA game!  Now we just have to find a hotel in Chicago.  The hotels aren't too expensive, it's the parking!  $45 a night?!  Insane.

I'm breaking out the ol' keyboard today.  I haven't touched it since my first house in Winona (aka 2 years ago?).  I'm going to set it up downstairs and teach myself 2 songs by the end of January.. that's the plan anyway!  I'm not doing much else with my days though, so I figure I should do something at least a little bit productive!

I'm almost done with my state thing.. hopefully it'll be done tonight! Yay :)  I'll post pictures when I get it hung up.

A little bit of bragging..

I ordered copies of my final official transcript because I needed some.  Naturally I couldn't resist opening one and look at it.. now I'm going to toot my own horn for a second.
Not only did I graduate, I graduated with KDP Honors, Cum Laude, and with a 3.91 GPA.  Boom. Nailed it.  4 and a half years of very hard work finally paid off! :)

if you refuse to accept anything but the best, you very often get it."

Interview

My interview was a success!  They're just checking my references and then offering me the job (as long as my references don't say anything terrible!).  Since I don't have to worry about the interview anymore, I can get to work on making things from pinterest!  Very exciting.  I already have one thing in the works.. it's similar to this, but I'm cutting the states out of an atlas, and putting them in frames.. mine will be way cuter than this one =)

I'm going to a comedy club on State Street with Kelly Kiley tonight.. should be fun!  Cameron's going to tag along as well.  Also, making reubens for dinner tonight! YUM!

New Years

It's officially 2012.. weird!  I don't know where December went?  I spent New Years in Winona reuniting with Mel and Abby.  I actually spent midnight with a cab driver.. not the most exciting night, but not a big deal.  I'm sure many exciting things will happen in 2012!

I had an interview last week at a child care center.  It went really well, and I have a working interview on Thursday.  I have to plan an activity to teach to two-year olds on Thursday.  Hopefully it goes well!  If so, then I'll have a my first full-time, big girl teaching job!

January means it's only one more month until I get to see Mat again!  VERY exciting!  We've been skyping our lives away:

That's all for today!
